Appointments

We now operate an “On the day” appointments system. You can phone from 8am on the day you wish to be seen.  There is also a percentage of pre – bookable appointments available for those patients who need to book in advance.

Appointments last 10 minutes. If you have multiple problems to discuss, you may be asked to make another appointment. The most important issues will always be dealt with first.

If you feel your problem is urgent we will always endeavour to fit you in as soon as possible. Urgent cases will be seen the same day. Please help the receptionists by telling them whether or not you feel your problem is urgent. The surgery is open continuously between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm from  Monday to Friday. You will be asked to provide the receptionist with a contact telephone number and a brief outline of your request.

If you can not make normal hours due to work we run a number of early morning and late evening surgeries that vary each week which may be of use to you.

Please ask at reception for any further details.

Home Visits

If possible please try to telephone before 10.00am when requesting a housecall and remember to provide the receptionist with your current contact details. Our practice nurse will telephone you back to assess your medical need. Sometimes it is more appropriate for a patient to come to the surgery where we have the necessary equipment.  House visits are only available for patients who are housebound due to illness or disability.

Missing appointments

We appreciate that it can be very frustrating for patients who feel unwell to book an appointment. We continually monitor the amount of available appointments we have. Unfortunately some patients abuse the appointment system and spoil it for others. It is common courtesy to phone and cancel your appointment if you no longer need it or you are unable to attend. Patients who continuously abuse the services in this manner may be asked to register with another GP Practice. Many of our genuine patients are suffering as this has an impact on available consulting time. Please appreciate that it is not the receptionist fault that there is not always an appointment with a doctor of your choice at a time that suits you.
